Free Iwami Kagura Workshop

What is Iwami Kagura?

Iwami kagura is one of traditional performing arts of Japan practiced in the Iwami region, which is the old name of the current Shimane prefecture in Japan. As of 2013, there are about 160 kagura companies in the Iwami region that is located to the north of Hiroshima. It’s common to see their performances at shrines, community centers, shopping malls, schools and festivals.
